Health Assessment is designed to provide the student with the cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills required to conduct a complete physical examination and health assessment of the client across the life cycle. Included are health history taking, physical examination skills, health promotion techniques and clinical decision-making.
Course Outlines
Performing physical assessments ( head to toe examination across the life spans)
Knowledge, understanding and differentiation between normal and abnormal physical findings.
Components of a complete health assessment; including the equipment and skills required to perform a complete health assessment;
Identification of developmental and cultural considerations in various aspects of a health assessment.
Document a complete health history with a healthy adult volunteer.
Adaptation of the techniques of health assessment for children and older adults;
Identify the relationship between health assessment and the practical practise
